It’s been a hectic week -so I’m sorry this is a few days late.
Title: Blood and Chocolate
Starring: Hugh Dancy
‘Blood and Chocolate’ is one of those film adaptations which takes the fully formed characters of a book; but then sends them out to live an almost entirely different existence within the film.
Hugh Dancy makes a gorgeous hedonistic artist, alongside the equally gorgeous, strong-female character of Vivian. The film has them enacting a Romeo and Juliet style romance….except it is punctuated by the challanges of living as part of a werewolf pack.
I loved the book when I was younger (and far less cynical about love stories), so I was looking forward to watching this film. I was a little dissapointed, but overall it’s ok. It has plenty of enjoyable and creative aspects, it just isn’t amazing.
If you want to join in, next week I will be reviewing ‘Coco Chanel and Igor Stravinsky’ starring Mads Mikkelsen.
